Established in 1826 by faithful Baptists who had settled the area, Hopewell Baptist Church continues to hold fast to God's Word as the source of truth and Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Our worldview is settled in the eternal precepts of the Bible and our church is a warm and intimate congregation of born-again, baptized believers who unite together for regular worship, prayer, discipleship, and missionary support.Â

Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God to mankind according to II Timothy 3:15-17, Matthew 5:17-18 and Psalm 19:7-11.
2. We believe there is one God and Creator of all things and all men according to Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and John 4:24.
3. We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, the one mediator between God and men according to John 1:1-18, I Timothy 2:5-6, and Colossians 1:15-20.
4. We believe in God the Holy Spirit according to Genesis 1:2, Acts 1:8 and Ephesians 1:13-14.
5. We believe salvation from the guilt of our sins is by grace through faith according to Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 1:16-17 and I Corinthians 15:1-4.
6. We believe the Church is the Body of Christ according to Matthew 16:13-19, I Corinthians 12:13 and Acts 2:42.
7. We believe in the return of Jesus Christ according to John 14:1-3, I Thessalonians 4:16-18 and Revelation 19:11-16.
